Friends:
I want to let you know that I'm pleased to back Jim Soule for City Council
in District Three. I believe Jim possesses the leadership and the people
skills required to serve folks in that district with distinction. He's
smart, deeply knowledgeable, well spoken, and a studious listener. He
also possesses the self-confidence it takes to let others air opposing
points of view.
I believe in his leadership. And I believe he's got a strong bead on what folks
in the city are thinking.
Jim comes from three generations of educators. His father served as Superintendent
of Schools in both Falmouth and Portland, then went on to head up the
teaching department at USM. A Bowdoin graduate, Jim began teaching at
Westbrook High School in 1979. All three of his brothers have worked as
teachers at one point in time. And Jim is no stranger to South Portland
politics: He served on the Council from 1988 to 1994. Councilors twice
elected him Mayor. He now owns and runs A-B.E.S.T. Windows.
Jim will be a wonderful addition to the City Council. And I urge you to lend
him your support.
Please contact me if you'd like a sign for your yard or if you'd like to host
a "Meet and Greet" at your home for fellow neighbors.
